Bacopa and Cancer Research
In
1995, Elangovan V, Govindasamy S, Ramamoorthy N, Balasubramaanian
conducted in vitro studies on the anticancer activity of Bacopa
extract. The saw that Bacopa saponin fractions have cytotoxic
activity for sarcoma-180 cells. It is thought this might be due to
Bacopa's inhibition of DNA replication in the cancerous cell line.
